Supporting the Next Generation of Science: Our Contribution to the ALBA Synchrotron Upgrade

Did you know that the synchrotron light is 10 billion times more brilliant than the sun light? And hundreds of thousands of times more intense than that from conventional x-ray tubes?

Our customers do know it very well and explained us this and much more…

Synchrotron radiation facilities produce this synchrotron light which is utilized to examine matter down to a molecular and atomic level across many scientific disciplines (biology, physics, material science, medicine…). Some examples can be the analysis of the structure of proteins, the development of new materials, cancer or energetic sustainability investigation.

Synchrotron light is produced by accelerating electrons, it is unique in its intensity and brilliance, and it can be generated across the range of the electromagnetic spectrum: from infrared to visible light to x-rays.

Two girder prototypes for a new storage ring that will upgrade the ALBA Synchrotron into a so-called 4th generation light source, have just been finished in our facilities in Tabaza I. Plinths, floor plates, frames, all manufactured components and the whole assembly were included in our scope of supply, as well as their corresponding set of documentation.

Factory Acceptance Tests including dimensional control of the manufactured pieces and functional verification of the assemblies, have been successfully carried out at our premises.
It is a pleasure for our company to contribute to the upgrade of this amazing facility constructed, owned and operated by a public Spanish consortium.

Special thanks to the people involved in this project in the ALBA Synchrotron for allowing us to be part of this challenge of manufacturing for science!

First Batch of Correction Coil Feeder Ring Rail System Successfully Delivered to ITER for Testing

We are proud to share that we have concluded the first batch of the Correction Coil Feeder Ring Rail System, a support structure used for lifting and positioning tools in the clean area of the tokamak pit at ITER (International Fusion Energy Organization).

This first batch has been delivered to ITER Organization’s headquarters in Saint Paul lez Durance, for further testing to be conducted by IO. These tests will finally validate the design of the tool and allow for potential improvements to be implemented in the second and final batch.

Our thanks to IO for your trust in our company and the opportunity to do our tiny bit on the way to new energy!
